Volunteers Invited To Attend Los Alamos County Little League Meeting At 6:30 p.m., Today

SPORTS News:

Community members are invited to attend the Los Alamos County Little League Baseball & Girls Softball meeting at 6:30 p.m., today in room 3 of Mesa Public Library.

Volunteers are needed for the positons of board of directors, managers, coaches, practice coaches, umpires, team parents and snack bar workers.

Registration to play this season is underway at www.lalittleleague.org. This year’s Opening Ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m., April 25 at the North Mesa Ball Fields.

Hilltoppers Sweep District I Swimming Championships

HILLTOPPER News:

The Los Alamos High School swimming teams captured both the girls’ and boys’ District 1 team titles at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center Friday and Saturday. 

The girls’ team scored 491 points to outpace St. Michael’s (356.5 points) and Farmington’s (307points).

Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers Compete In Winter Invite

Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers traveled to Albuquerque to compete in the Winter Invite at Precision Gymnastics. Four hundred gymnasts representing 21 teams from New Mexico and Texas competed at the event.

Junior Olympic Competition
 
In the level four Junior Olympic competition, Kayli Lincoln represented Los Alamos in the younger age division taking fifth in the all-around with 35.05. She also took silver on vault with 8.70, and bronze on beam with 8.95.

Registration Opens For PGA Junior League Golf

LAGC News:

Registration is now open for the PGA Junior League Golf (PGA JLG) at the Los Alamos Golf Course.

PGA JLG features a team-vs-team scramble format in a structured league setting that provides for a more popular, less stressful, competition. The emphasis is on the fun, recreation and sportsmanship of the game for players at any skill level. Where every participant gets the chance to play.

Teams consist of nine to 12 juniors ages 7 to 13. The cost is $150 per player and the season runs June 1 through July 12.

Players receive:

  • Team Jerseys
  • Golf Balls
  • PGA-JLG Bag Tags
  • 5-6 regular-season league
