Mary Snow was only 8 seconds off her predicted time in the July 15 Atomic City Road Runners’ weekly pace race held on the trail across the road from the Pajarito Ski Lodge. 
 
Ted Romero has a 13 second differential and was also the fastest runner on the 3 mile course with a time of 23:33. Other top predictors were Paul Elkins at 33 seconds off and John Ullmann with a 43 second difference.

Los Alamos Aquatomics Place Third at State

The Los Alamos Aquatomics placed third out of 19 teams and second among boys at the New Mexico Swimming 10 & under Championship meet in Farmington July 19-20, 2014. 

The team, comprised of two eight & under girls, and eight 10 & under boys posted some impressive best times and great relay swims.

It has been a busy summer for the Los Alamos Precision Rifle Team. After a long road to qualify including matches in Albuquerque, Piedra Vista and Salt Lake City (Regional), the team was invited to compete June 26-28 at the National 3 Position Air Rifle Championships at the CMP facility at Camp Perry Ohio.

YMCA Holds Wrestling Clinic July 28-Aug. 1

The Family YMCA, 1450 Iris St., will hold a Wrestling Skills Clinic coached by Steve DiMarino 9-10:30 a.m., July 28 to Aug. 1, for children ages 5-12 (matched by ability).

BBBS Charity Golf Tournament July 26

The Los Alamos Golf Course is hosting the “Drive For Matches” Golf Tournament, benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) in Los Alamos and Rio Arriba Counties.

The event is 11 a.m. to  6 p.m., with tee-off at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 26. This event will help BBBS support existing matches and goes toward matching more local children with caring adult mentors.

Results for this summer’s second Triatomics Splash n Dash are in and listed below. The next Splash n Dash is set for July 23. Registration opens at 6:20 p.m., instructions at 6:50 p.m. and the first swimmer is off at 7 p.m. sharp.

Participation is free but limited to the first 75 athletes.

There will be an award at Splash n Dash #4 for anybody who participates in three or more of the Splash n Dashes this summer.
