Reglien Best Predictor in Pace Race

ACR News:

Twenty two runners and walkers participated in Tuesday night’s pace race on West Road, starting and ending at the Los Alamos County Ice Rink. 

 
The goal was to predict their times for completing a one mile or three mile course. Unfortunately, timer problems precluded recording the finish times for the last eight runners. 
 
The best predictor was Jennifer Reglien with an adjusted error of 51 seconds. On the one mile course, the fastest male was Richard Thompson III (8:30) and the fastest female was Patricia Burnside (8:56.)

The Marathon Des Sables has wrapped up and one of its participants, Garth Reader of Los Alamos, could not be more pleased with his results. Reader finished the ultra race 110 overall and ninth in his division. The week-long race, which began April 7, had him trekking 156 miles over various terrain in the Moroccan Sahara Desert.

Topper Girls and Boys Golf Teams Take Second

LAHS News:

The Topper Girls Golf Team took 2nd place at the Santa Fe High School Invite Monday.

They posted their best team score of the spring and earned yet another team state qualifying leg.

Emma Haines led the girls team with an 85 and earned her 6th individual state qualifying leg. Bri Sanderson shot 95, Aislinn McDonal 101 and Jennifer Necker, 8th grader, shot 103. Mal Apgar also competed.

The boys team finished in 2nd place with Raul Roybal leading the boys’ charge with a 79. Raul got his 3rd state qualifying leg, which puts him in the state championship tournament.

Pittman is Top Predictor in Weekly Pace Race

ACR News:

Emily Pittman was the most accurate predictor in the April 23 pace race held out on North Mesa by the rodeo grounds with a 1 second error off her predicated time. 

 
Other top predictors were Bob Weeks with a 3 second differential as well as being the fastest male on the 1 mile course at 13:29. Christie Kelly was the top female 1 mile finisher with a time of 10:27 and was only 9 seconds off her predicted time. Carissa Pittman finished 11 seconds off her prediction.

Dressage Horse Show at North Mesa Arena April 27

Los Alamos Pony Club is hosting a New Mexico Dressage Association recognized dressage show at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at the North Mesa dressage arena behind the rodeo arena within the white fencing.

In the event of inclement weather, the show will be moved to the covered arena.

Several local youth and adult competitors, as well as other riders from around New Mexico will be in attendance.

The New Mexico High School Coaches Association Announces 2013 Hall of Honor inductees

Robert “Bobby” Rodriguez of Santa Fe, George Frederick of Carlsbad and Jack Cisco of Hatch will all be in inducted into the NMHSCA Hall of Honor at the Bobby Gibbs Awards Luncheon Wednesday, July 31 at the Crowne Plaza in Albuquerque.

The Coaches Hall of Honor is an award for outstanding service as a coach to the student-athletes of New Mexico and for outstanding service to the New Mexico High School Coaches Association. The NMHSCA Hall of Honor is housed at the NMAA Hall of Pride and Honor in Albuquerque. Read More
