Spaghetti For Everyone 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday!

LAHS SWIM TEAM News:

The community is invited to attend the Los Alamos High School Swim Team’s Annual Fundraising Spaghetti Dinner.

The dinner is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at the Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church.

Tickets are $5 a person – children 8 & under are $3/plate. The dinner includes spaghetti (both a meat sauce and a non-meat sauce will be available), salad, garlic bread, dessert and a drink.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from any high school swimmer or at the door.

Turf Covers Meant to Protect Against Winter’s Wrath

If you drive by the golf course on a regular basis you may have noticed that a number of the golf course’s greens were covered prior to the first snows of the season. 

These turf covers are meant to protect the golf greens from the wrath that winter conditions can sometimes bring. The covers provide protection from both Crown Hydration and Desiccation.

LAHS News:

Los Alamos High School senior Micaela Christensen signs her letter of intent to play softball for Taylor University (NAIA) in Upland, Ind.

The signing took place Thursday, Jan. 3 at Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road.

Micaela is a senior and has been the starting catcher for LAHS since 2009, her 8th grade year. She has a career batting average of .427, 16 HRs and 105 RBIs.

Canadian Hockey Team to Play Jan. 3 Exhibition Against Los Alamos

The Hilltoppers Hockey Team enters the mid-season tournament this week sitting 3rd in league play.

The Toppers play four games as part of the event beginning 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 in Los Alamos against one of the most interesting opponents seen at the Los Alamos Ice Rink – the Saints of St. Thomas Aquinas of Kenora, ONT, Canada.
 
The story from their hometown paper in Canada paints a good picture of how the team has come to visit New Mexico.
 
Los Alamos is certainly excited to host them … 1,500 miles to play hockey and ski!

Toppers Runner-Up in Silver Bracket at Piedra Vista Duals

LAHS Wrestling News:

 

The Toppers drew the toughest pool, facing host Piedra Vista, and a tough Del Norte team from Colorado Saturday at Farmington.

 

In the first dual against Piedra Vista, only Lane Saunders picked up a win. Cory and Brian Geyer both lost tough bouts by one point.

 

In the second dual, Peter Brewer, Brian Geyer, Chandler Lauritzen and Lane Saunders picked up wins for the Toppers.

 

Despite losing both duals in pool play, the Toppers earned a bye in the Silver bracket, which left them competing for seventh place.
