NMHSCA News:
The New Mexico High School Coaches Association Board of Directors chose its Fall Sports Coaches of the Year.
These coaches will be recognized at the 26th annual Bobby Gibbs Awards Luncheon Wednesday, July 31, 2013. This event is held annually at the NMHSCA Coaches Clinic.
The NMHSCA only chooses on coach of the year for all classifications in a sport. It is a battle every year during the board meeting. Each of the coaches below had an outstanding season.
For a few of them, it has been multiple state championships in a roll.

SPORTS News:
The NMHSCA produces All-State teams for New Mexico High School Football. The process is as follows:
1. Head Coaches Nominate Athletes at their annual district meetings.
2. Each District submits the All-State Nomination Form Per District.
3. Ballots are created for each classification based on the Football All-State Nomination Form
4. Each head coach gets to cast a ballots.
5. Athletes that recieve the highest points are placed on the appropriate teams.

Los Alamos School of Gymnastics Atomic Tumblers’ Brianna Fryer, Addison Richie and Anna Clark became New Mexico State All-around Champions in their divisions following their performances in the Xcel Program State Gymnastics Meet in Rio Rancho Dec. 1.
Fryer swept the Bronze Child A Division, becoming the NM State vault (8.8), bar (9.5), beam (9.15), floor (9.15) and all-around (36.6) Champion. Fryer was the top all-around scorer across all divisions for the Tumblers’.

Registration is now open for the YMCA Folkstyle Wrestling Program for Boys and Girls ages 6-18.
This scholastic wrestling program focuses on development of agility, strength, flexibility, and self-confidence in a fun, yet challenging environment.
Folkstyle wrestling is based on controlling an opponent with a series of holds, takedowns, throws, and body position.

(Jay) Rockefeller IV Thursday commended the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for sending warning letters to 18 sports equipment manufacturers for the way they market their products’ ability to reduce the risk of concussions and for reaching a settlement with Brain-Pad, a mouth guard manufacturer.
