Today, Lance Armstrong threw in the towel in his fight to clear his name in the ongoing Tour De France doping scandals. Armstrong issued a statement that has been published in an earlier Los Alamos Daily Post story (see link below.)
In his statement, Armstrong discusses how “enough is enough” after dealing with claims that he cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning his seven Tours since 1999.

Lance Armstrong is finally throwing in the towel and doing so could cost him his seven Tour de France titles as soon today.
Armstrong has chosen not to pursue arbitration in the drug case brought against him by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
That was the final option available to him in his bitter fight with USADA. His decision sets the stage for the titles to be stripped and his name to be all but wiped from the record books of the sport he once ruled.

FAMILY YMCA News:
The Family YMCA and Fusion Volleyball have teamed up to offer a Volleyball skills development program for girls ages 12-15.
Practice starts at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 and will be twice a week at the Y through October.
Stop by the Y to observe practice and meet the coaches at 1 p.m. this Sunday at no charge.
Program will be $45 for Y members and $60 for program only members.
Diggers Volleyball for ages 8-11 is open for registration at $32 for Y members and $48 for program members.

The Four Corners Aquatic Team and New Mexico Swimming hosted the New Mexico Long Course State Championships Swim Meet July 19-22, at the Farmington Aquatic Center in Farmington.
A total of 446 swimmers from 22 teams attended.
The Los Alamos Aquatomics had 23 swimmers attend the championship meet; several of whom scored points for the team by finishing in the top eight in their events:
