Register for Ruby K’s Halloweekend Yum Run

RUBY K’S News:

The eighth annual Ruby K’s Yum Run is Oct. 27 starting at 8 a.m. with a 5K run/walk and a 10K trail run/walk and at 9:30 a.m. with a 1K fun walk/run.

The event begins and ends at Ruby K’s Bagel Café at 20th Street and Central Avenue and all profits benefit LA Cares.  

This year’s run/walk is included in local MainStreet Halloweekend activities. Los Alamos Rotary Club, a supporter of LA Cares, is partnering to assist with the event. 

Entry fees are $15 per person for the 1K (or $35 per family); $30/person for the 5K AND 10K (or $90/family).

Los Alamos High School Football C-Team Wins Again

Coach Marco V. Lucero reports that Monday Sept. 17, the Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers Football C-team traveled to Moriarty to take on the Pintos. Despite the the fact that the Toppers lost their first string quarterback in the beginning of the third quarter, the Toppers went on to win 40-20. Cory Schramm went out with a head injury. KinderHoops Basketball Registration Closes Sept. 28

FAMILY YMCA News:

Registration for KinderHoops Basketball is open until Sept. 28 at the Family YMCA.

This is an introductory basketball program for boys and girls ages four to six.

Practices and games will be twice a week Oct. 8 to Nov. 16 in Los Alamos and White Rock.

Players will learn basketball basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, and the joy of the game from volunteer parent/coaches.
