Atomic Man Duathlon 2012 Results

The 2012 Atomic Man Duathlon was held on Sunday, April 29th. Pet Pangaea, a sponsor of the 2012 Atomic Man Duathlon, has made race photos available to the public.

Eighty two individuals and nine teams from across New Mexico and as far away as Barboursville, West Virgina, competed in this years running and Bicycling event. The event include a “Fat Man” long course and a “Little Boy” short course.

Top Fat Man male finishers were Mike Rahmer of Tijaras (2:10), James Webster, Albuquerque (2:14) and Todd Rinner (2:20).

Dog Jog 2012 Results

The 2012 Friends of the Shelter Dog Jog was held Saturday, April 28th.  Dog Jog sponsor Pet Pangaea has provided photos and results from this years jog. The 2012 Los Alamos Dog Jog was coordinated by the Los Alamos Dog Obedience Club, Mountain Canine Corps, and the Atomic City Roadrunners as a fund raising benefit for the Friends of the Shelter.

Police Win Money for Special Olympics during Benefit Basketball Game

Los Alamos Police were up 37-29 at half time in today’s exhibition basketball game against Espanola Police but the final score ended at Espanola Police 71, Los Alamos Police 65. The game was played in the gymnasium at Northern New Mexico College in Espanola and raised $288 for Special Olympics. “It was a great game that raised money to benefit a very worthy cause … we had a good crowd and everyone had a good time so it was a very successful event,” said Los Alamos Police Chief Wayne Torpy, adding that next year’s game will be played in Los Alamos. Montoya is Top Predictor in North Mesa Pace Race

Theresa Montoya was the top predictor with a 15 second differential in this past Tuesday night’s pace race held out on North Mesa on the trail by Brewer Arena next to the horse stables. Other top predictors included Ted Romero at 17 seconds off, Tom Sandford coming in at 20 seconds from his stated time, and Bob Edgar having a 32 second difference.
 
Roy Cope was the fastest participant on the 1 mile course with a time of 11:44.  The top 1 mile female runner was Georgia Pedicini at 14:12.
