The force was with the Los Alamos High School Toppers at the Varsity tennis District Individual tournaments held on May 3-4, 2024 at Taos.

Ryan Sood won the boys singles gold, Nicholas and Micheal Witkowski won the boys doubles bronze and Sofia Parra won the bronze in the girls singles category.

2024-25 High School Basketball Rule Changes Address Flopping

NFHS News:

INDIANAPOLIS — A new definition and subsequent warning for faking being fouled (flopping) has been added to the NFHS Basketball Rules Book for the 2024-25 season.

This revision to high school basketball rules was one of 12 changes approved by the NFHS Basketball Rules Committee at its April 9-11 meeting in Indianapolis. All recommended changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.

The Los Alamos High School Topper Softball Team won both ends of a doubleheader over the Moriarty Pintos in games played Saturday at Hope Field in White Rock.

The Toppers won the first game 13-3 and the second 13-0.

The Toppers have now won 11 straight games.

The Los Alamos High School Topper Varsity Tennis District Tournament was held at Santa Fe on April 26-27, 2024. The boys placed second and the girls came in fourth.

The boys beat Roberston 6-3 in the semifinals, with Spencer Urbatsch clinching the win. They fell to Santa Fe Prep 3-5 in the finals in a tight battle.

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is addressing a public health concern after several hypodermic needles were found at the North Mesa baseball fields and dugouts. The discovery was reported by the president of the Los Alamos Little League to county staff, prompting an immediate response by local authorities.

LAYSL To Hold Annual General Meeting May 6

LAYSL News:

The Los Alamos Youth Soccer League (LAYSL) will hold its Annual General Meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the Los Alamos Mesa Public Library. All are welcome.

LAYSL is seeking new board members for several open positions and  encourages anyone interested in helping Youth Soccer in Los Alamos to attend the meeting to learn more about LAYSL and volunteer opportunities (coaches are always needed, too!).

There will also be the opportunity to learn about the many girls and boys teams that LAYSL is fielding this season at the recreational, pre-competitive and competitive levels.
