NCRTD To Temporarily Modify Six RTD Blue Bus Routes

NCRTD News:

While continuing to provide essential service during the COVID-19 outbreak, the North Central Regional Transit District has identified six RTD Blue Bus routes that will be temporarily modified beginning Nov. 16. 

The changes will impact the 400 Los Alamos, 180 El Rito and 360 Tres Piedras routes. Additionally, the 160 Santa Clara, 220 Tesuque and 230 San Ildefonso routes will be combined into one route.

Pavement Work On Canyon Road Begins Monday

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division is scheduled to have crews performing Pavement Preservation along Canyon Road from 15th Street to Diamond Drive Nov. 9 through Dec. 9.

This work will occur 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on days when the weather and temperature are favorable.

A flagging operation will be used, and pedestrian and vehicle traffic are urged to use caution while traveling through the work zone.

County Reminds Motorists Of Winter Safety Considerations

Avoid getting stuck on the road … every motorist is responsible to equip their vehicle to handle snowy and icy road conditions and to drive carefully and courteously during adverse conditions. Courtesy photo

Winter weather is here and Los Alamos County is reminding residents of some important safety considerations for motorists to take in order to travel as safely as possible.

Traffic Alert: San Ildefonso Road Embankment; Fence Repairs Nov. 10-13

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets crews will be placing material behind the sidewalk to shore up the embankment on San Ildefonso Road.

Crews also will be repairing the fence between El Gancho Road and the roundabout and loading and hauling material from the County lot on North Mesa near the stables.

Work is anticipated to occur Nov. 10 through Nov. 13 beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

For the safety of pedestrians and due to the proximity of heavy equipment, the sidewalk will be closed from El Gancho to the roundabout.

RTD Announces Veterans Day Holiday Closure Nov. 11

NCRTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) Blue Buses will not be in service Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.

The exception is 255 Mountain Trail to Santa Fe National Forest, which will operate.

The Mountain Trail requires a reservation to ride and seating is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Reservations can be made at 505.629.4725 ext. 2.

SANTA FE Due to recent winter weather conditions, travel on forest roads may be difficult.

Visitors are urged to use extreme caution, as snowstorms can happen unexpectedly causing the roads to be muddy and impassable.

When planning to visit the Santa Fe National Forest, be prepared:

  • Check the weather forecast and road conditions. Be prepared for seasonal fluctuations.

State Police To Launch Checkpoints And Saturation Patrols In Counties Across New Mexico In November

NMSP News:

New Mexico State Police (NMSP) will be conducting sobriety checkpoints; saturation patrols; and registration, insurance and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during the month of November 2020.
