LAPD Reminds Motorists That School Starts Monday

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department is reminding motorists that all elementary schools start Monday, Oct. 19 within the Los Alamos Public Schools district.

Police Officers will be conducting traffic enforcement in each of the five elementary school zones to ensure the safety of all students, parents and staff as the community transitions into another school year.

LAPD also reminds motorists to stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing and students are loading and unloading throughout the community.

This pertains to traffic traveling in both directions.

Section Of 34th St. Between Urban & Villa Closed Thursday

COUNTY News:

Water crews with Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities will close a section of 34th Street to through traffic between Urban and Villa to replace a water line.

Work is scheduled for one day only – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

Working in the roadway in front of 2144 34th St., crews will maintain access to residences at all times. No interruption of water services is planned. Crews do request that neighbors refrain from parking vehicles on 34th St. Thursday.

Motorists are advised to use caution near the construction zone.

Atomic City Transit After School Routes Begin Oct. 19

COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit is announces that Express Routes 7(C) – North Mesa, Route 8 – North Community, Route 9 – Aspen Area, Route 10 – Barranca Mesa and Route 11 – White Rock Area will resume operations beginning Monday, Oct. 19, the same day as the beginning of Los Alamos Public Schools Hybrid Attendance Model for elementary schools.

Rides on the Express Routes must be requested in advance using the Dial-A-Ride reservation system. Express Routes will operate as a reservation only service every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Locations in White Rock and Los Alamos townsite – Asphalt patches  

GM Emulsion, under contract with the Department of Public Utilities, will patch asphalt at various locations and times throughout White Rock and the townsite where repairs to water lines occurred earlier in the summer. Work will begin Monday and continue through Friday. Traffic control devices will be set up around the construction zones.

RTD Blue Bus Seasonal TSV Green Route To Taos Ski Valley Suspended For 2020/2021 Winter Season

NCRTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that its RTD 341 TSV Green route between the Town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley will be suspended for the upcoming 2020/2021 winter season.

The move also impacts the weekend evening service on the RTD 380 Night Rider route, which also will be placed on hold this season.

The TSV Green and Night Rider routes are seasonal services that coincide with the winter ski season at the Taos Ski Valley.
