North Central Regional Transit District 255 Mountain Trail Fares Waived Nov. 11 To Honor Veterans Day

In partnership with the Santa Fe National Forest and to honor the nation’s veterans and their families, the North Central Regional Transit District will waive fares for all on its RTD Blue Bus 255 Mountain Trail route Monday, Nov. 11.

 

The RTD Mountain Trail provides year-round public transit service from downtown Santa Fe up Hyde Park Road, to trailheads through the Santa Fe National Forest concluding at Ski Santa Fe.

RTD ‘Blue Bus’ Closures For Veterans Day Nov. 11

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses”, will not be in service Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
 
The exception is the 255 Mountain Trail and the 800 Angel Fire routes, which will operate.
 
The NCRTD thanks and honors all veterans for the time they served and the sacrifices they, and their families, made for our country!

SANTA FE Winter-weather is here and the New Mexico Department of Transportation is ready. 
 
The NMDOT is working around the clock to monitor the roads, report road conditions, spread salt and cinder and plow snow if necessary.
 
In coordination with law enforcement, the NMDOT has some advice for drivers when traveling through unfavorable road conditions.

Tom Udall (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, questioned Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg and Vice President John Hamilton about the company’s “cozy” relationship with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulators and commitments to reform in the aftermath of two fatal crashes involving the 737 MAX 8 jet.

Lane Closures On 3055 Trinity Drive Lane Friday

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division of Public Works will be closing the interior west and east bound lanes in the location of 3055 Trinity Dr. Friday, Nov. 1.

Work will commence at 8:30 a.m. and should be completed by 4 p.m. Friday.

Crews will be repairing a re-occurring pothole in that location. 

Vehicle traffic is urged to slow down and follow all traffic control devices. Pedestrian traffic should be aware of equipment in the area.

State Police: Sobriety Checkpoints; Saturation Patrols

State Police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and registration, insurance and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties throughout November.
 
NMSP is bringing awareness to these events in an effort to reduce alcohol related fatalities through continued media attention and intensive advertising.
 
These checkpoints are helping to change society’s attitude about drinking and driving.

Traffic Alert: Construction Mishap Closes Meadow Lane

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department has just advised the Los Alamos Daily Post that a construction crew hit a live wire this afternoon on Meadow Lane in White Rock.

The Utility Department and police are on the scene.

Meadow Lane is closed at about Hacienda near St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in both directions.

Police are asking motorists to use Rover Boulevard while the utility crew repairs the broken wire on Meadow Lane.
