Roadwork Begins On NM 4 In Jemez Pueblo

NMDOT News:

JEMEZ PUEBLO —The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin a pavement preservation project on approximately 2.5 miles of NM 4 in Jemez Pueblo in late August.

Roadwork will take place from mile marker 4.5 to 7.2 through the Pueblo of Jemez.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.  Brasier Asphalt, the contractor for the District Six project, will perform work between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A pilot car and flagger operation will be in place. Drivers should expect lane closures, delays, and plan travel accordingly. Read More

A creative new idea has emerged from discussions with Los Alamos County Council, the Transportation Board and public feedback: a pilot program with Atomic City Transit (ACT) known as MyRide, which kicked off Aug. 2 and will continue until 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25.

Effective Monday, Aug. 18, Atomic City Transit (ACT) will implement changes to routes #8 and #9. The adjustment is part of ACT’s commitment to optimizing service and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet the needs of the majority of our riders.

Riders are asked to plan ahead and review the new maps, schedules, and tips to determine any required adjustments to travel plans.

ALBUQUERQUE — Visit Albuquerque, the city’s official destination marketing organization (DMO), has announced the recipients of its 2025 Tourism Grant Program. $2M Roadway Rehabilitation Project On NM 511 To Begin Near Navajo Dam

NMDOT News:

A Hot-In-Place Recycling project will begin along NM 511 east of Bloomfield, NM.

Hot-In-Place Recycling (HIR) utilizes a specialized machine in which 100% of the asphalt in place is recycled. The asphalt is removed, crushed, rejuvenated, and replaced onto the roadway, restoring flexibility and quality of the asphalt material. This process reduces environmental impacts, speeds up timelines and reduces the cost of roadway miles maintained. 

Starting, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, traffic can expect lane closures beginning at milepost 0 (intersection with US 64) to milepost 23.5. Read More
