The talk is at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 2600 Canyon Road, following the Mountaineers’ 7 p.m. meeting to discuss upcoming outings.

North Central Regional Transit District Adds Additional Bus To Chimayo Route On Good Friday

In addition to its regular 150 Chimayo Route bus, the North Central Regional Transit District (RTD “Blue Bus”) will be adding an additional bus along its Española to Chimayo route to accommodate people making the annual pilgrimage to El Santuario de Chimayo on Good Friday, March 30.

SANTA FE – Today, Gov. Susana Martinez announced that law enforcement across the state will be out in full force this weekend to crack down on drunk driving during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

La Cueva Road Closed For Emergency Repairs

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) has contracted with Paul Parker Construction to conduct emergency repairs to a sanitary sewer line that crosses La Cueva Street just north of Barranca Road. 

Starting immediately, La Cueva will be closed for a period of two days at the section of road where excavation is underway. Local traffic will be rerouted on Cascabel Street to access La Cueva properties north of the closure.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the Los Alamos Nature Center, Jean Dewart will share her story of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, where she covered 235-miles in Oregon.
 
Regardless of all the difficulties in this endeavor, Jean spent six months training with multiple experimental loads in her backpack, pouring over route maps, and planning resupply positions. Not only will her presentation cover the stories of the trail, but Jean will also share how to prepare for such a hike.
