In 1983, I met with my school counselor for the “career talk”. All vocational tests pointed toward the sciences, and I could taste a future at NASA. As I became more insistent about this pathway, my counselor oddly kept redirecting me to other jobs. Santa Fe Community College To Close For Memorial Day

SFCC News:

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College and the Santa Fe Higher Education Center will be closed Monday, May 26, in honor of Memorial Day.

No classes or activities will be held, and no other student services will be available.

The college’s early childhood development center, Kids Campus, and the William C. Witter Fitness Education Center

are included in the closure.

SFCC and the Santa Fe Higher Education Center will reopen on Tuesday, May 27.

Upstart Crows of Santa Fe and The Shakespeare Gym present an uncut production of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy, Romeo and Juliet.

Two casts – one an age-accurate mix of adults and youth, the other a gender- blind, age- blind cast perform in the historic Scottish Rite Temple and then in the Crows own black box theater in Eldorado. Daily Postcard: Solitary Sandpiper Spotted In White Rock

Daily Postcard: This Solitary Sandpiper was seen May 2 at the pond behind the Water Treatment Plant in White Rock. According to All About Birds and the Audubon Society, these birds are robin-sized. They are also long distance migrants, breeding in Canada and Alaska but migrating, sometimes through parts of New Mexico, almost always to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
