Rotary Club Concert to Feature Beene Memorial Music Competition Winners June 17 at Fuller Lodge

Fuller Lodge will resonate with music on June 17 when the Los Alamos Rotary Club presents a Fathers’ Day concert performed by 12 award winners of the annual Deborah Beene Memorial Music Competitions.

The concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. and admission is free.

These popular annual concerts showcase the superb musical talents developed by young Los Alamos musicians, a number of whom pursue professional careers in music.

I = IR + SE Innovation Results from Intelligent Risk Taking and a Supportive Environment

Like many people in many companies and organizations, I have been thinking a lot about innovation lately.

In my case, the effort has been a prelude to thinking about upcoming revisions to the Baldrige Program’s 2013–2014 Criteria for Performance Excellence.

I consulted works by Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Clayton Christensen, Jeff Dyer, and Hal Gergersen, as well as numerous articles and blogs.

Mae T. Cagliostro, 68, a resident of Los Alamos passed away on June 6, 2012 after bravely battling leukemia for 6 years. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loved ones. ‘Get Green’ Poster Competition Winners Announced

In the “Get Green” poster competition, grade school students in Los Alamos County showed off their artistic ability and understanding of sustainability. 

The resulting entries provide insight into why preserving our environment is so important, and what actions we can all take to help create a more sustainable community.
