It is a little known fact, but the vast power and autonomy of the State Land Office truly rest in the decisions that come before the land commissioner every day.  The decisions rest solely on the discretion of the land commissioner and their ability to resist undue pressure and fear mongering from special interests.

Decisions that will directly impact the future of responsible development and revenue in our state. Decisions that certainly have input and recommendations from land office experts, but that are ultimately at the sole discretion of the land commissioner.  Read More

Forest Service Invests $80M In Forest Legacy Conservation

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Forest Service is investing more than $80 million from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to support 15 congressionally approved Forest Legacy projects in 2026. SANTA FE — New Mexico is deploying a corps of trained digital navigators to help thousands of residents in rural, low-income and older communities build the internet skills needed to access jobs, healthcare and education online.
