SANTA FE – Addison Nace, a Ph.D. candidate in Design Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been selected as the 2025 Museum of International Folk Art Summer Research Fellow. Nace will work with local artists and researchers to showcase the ways in which folk art traditions, particularly textiles, explore broader economic practices while respecting and protecting Indigenous knowledge systems.

The Los Alamos Photo Club is hosting its 29th Annual Show opening to the public Saturday in Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library. Daily Postcard: A turkey vulture warms its wings in Bandelier National Monument. Bandelier’s Frijoles Canyon has one of the largest turkey vulture roosts in New Mexico. From March through mid-September there are often 50 -60 vultures roosting in the main area of Frijoles Canyon near the visitor center. In the past, even greater numbers used the large cottonwoods located there. In the morning, vultures can be seen sunning themselves on the canyon slopes until the air warms and provides thermal updrafts to begin their days of soaring and feeding.
