Children charge down a grassy slope to collect Easter eggs Saturday morning during the Elks and Freedom Church Easter Egg Hunt at Ashley Pond Park. The event featured 20,000 plastic eggs filled with 35,000 pieces of candy and toys. Volunteers spent six weeks filling the eggs. The Easter Egg Hunt has had a long history in Los Alamos; it started in the early 2000s. In its earliest days, kids collected real, hard-boiled and hand-dyed eggs.
