DPU & Customer Care To Close For Lunch Friday Dec. 12

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) administrative office and Customer Care Center at 1000 Central Ave., Suite 130, will close during the lunch hour on Friday, Dec. 12 in celebration of the holiday season.

DPU management will be hosting an appreciation luncheon for all DPU employees between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Los Alamos Fire Department Advises Community Portable Propane Fire Pits Are Prohibited At Holiday Lights Parade

LAFD News:

To keep the community safe, the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) advises that portable propane fire pits at the Dec. 6 Holiday Lights Parade on Central Avenue are prohibited.

Large crowds, tight spaces, and the presence of parade vehicles and floats create conditions where open flames and fuel sources are hazardous.

This measure is supported by Chapter 22-31(a)(1) of the Los Alamos County Code, which adopts the International Fire Code and places certain restrictions on the use of liquid propane at special events.

County Manager Announces 10 A.M. Start For Non-Essential Government Services And Facilities

Due to inclement weather and icy conditions, Los Alamos County Manager Anne Laurent has ordered a 10 a.m. start for all nonessential county government services and facilities today, Thursday, Dec. 4, including the Golf Pro Shop.
