Attorneys in the Los Alamos Magistrate Court case involving Andrea Rivera, 30, of Los Alamos, have asked for a competence hearing for her. Rivera has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of tampering with evidence.

The charges relate to a Nov. 3 incident in which Rivera is accused of stabbing Cory Kerschner multiple times and also injuring her sister, Sarah Cooper, with a knife during the same incident. Three preliminary hearings have been set for Dec. 8 in Los Alamos Magistrate Court for Krista Wilhelm, 32, of Los Alamos on a variety of charges.

John Craven, 35, of Los Alamos, has charged with a new offense in Santa Fe District Court just days after he  dodged a Nov. 28 evidentiary hearing on a probation violation before First Judicial District Chief Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer.

The District Attorney’s office failed to have Craven transported for the hearing and Judge Marlowe Sommer dropped the probation violation charge related to seven charges racked up during an Oct. 2 visit to 10,000 Waves Spa.

A former teacher with Espanola School District, Gary F. Gregor, 61, was indicted by a Rio Arriba County grand jury Thursday on a charge of sexual offense against a child after allegedly causing a boy 12 years of age or younger to touch his genitals. The offense allegedly occurred between August 2006 and May 2007. The maximum penalty for this charge is six years and a fine of not more than $5,000.

Los Alamos Magistrate Judge Pat Casados released Carl “Wayne” Mosley, 67, of Los Alamos on his own recognizance Tuesday pending trial on charges of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13, criminal sexual contact of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Mosley was arrested following an investigation conducted by Los Alamos Police Det. Matthew Lyon along with Child Youth and Families Department representatives and a forensic interviewer.
