ALBUQUERQUE  Nov. 14, Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that New Mexicans who were deceived into sending payments to scammers using Western Union’s wire transfer service may now apply for compensation from a $586 million fund administered by the Department of Justice’s Victim Asset Recovery Program.
 
This fund is related to a multi-state settlement with New Mexico and 49 other states, the District of Columbia and Western Union that was first announced in January.

ALBUQUERQUE — Gov. Susana Martinez announced Monday that more than one-third of DWI cases monitored by the state during the first year of the DWI court monitoring initiative – aimed to shed light on how DWI cases are handled – were dismissed.

Just nine days after Los Alamos Magistrate Judge Pat Casados opted to keep Victoria Espinoza in jail on a cash only secured bond for $3,000 unless she can be admitted to an inpatient drug treatment facility, Espinoza is out of jail after her $3,000 bond was paid. She is slated for a Dec. 1 preliminary hearing in Magistrate Court.

Espinoza was arrested Nov. 3 on a warrant and charged with possession of methamphetamine; possession of heroin; selling, disposing, possessing dangerous drugs; possession of marijuana; and two counts of drug paraphernalia.

Bucholz Remains In Jail Pending Preliminary Hearing

Hazel Bucholz, 19, will remain in custody until her Dec. 1 preliminary hearing in Los Alamos Magistrate Court, following a ruling by Judge Pat Casados Friday.

Bucholz was arrested in Rio Rancho on a warrant after she failed to appear for her Oct. 27 preliminary hearing before Judge Casados.

Bucholz was arrested June 20 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She had her first appearance June 21 before Judge Casados.

Carl “Wayne” Mosley, 67, of Los Alamos was charged Friday with criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13, criminal sexual contact of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Mosley was arrested following an investigation conducted by Los Alamos Police Det. Matthew Lyon along with Child Youth and Families Department representatives and a forensic interviewer.
