VCNP Seeks Food Vendors For 2024 Summer Season

JEMEZ SPRINGS – The National Park Service is looking to expand visitor services at Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP) this year by working with local food vendors to offer different New  Mexican cuisines.

Currently, there are only light snacks available at the park. This makes it difficult to provide a comprehensive visitor experience, especially to out-of-town visitors arriving at the park in the middle of the day.

Pajarito Mountain Offers Mother’s Day Brunch At Cafe

PAJARITO News:

Pajarito Mountain kicks off the summer season May 12 with a very special brunch for Mother’s Day, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the cafe.

On the menu:

 

  • Hearty Breakfast plates
  • Spicy Breakfast Burritos
  • Down Home Biscuits and Gravy
  • Luscious Strawberry Cheesecake French toast

LRG News:

Los Alamos National Laboratory retirees (and potential retirees) are invited to drop in at the Laboratory Retiree Group (LRG) monthly breakfast social, between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7 at Muy Salsas at 1315 Trinity Dr.

LRG will pay for coffee and tea. Individuals will pay for their breakfast and other drinks.

Tesuque Casino 3-Day Chili Championships June 21-23, 2024

Tesuque Casino News:

The challenge is on! Tesuque Casino will be the site for the ICS International Chili Society 2024 New Mexico State Chili Championships and Southwest Regional Chili Championships June 21-23, 2024.

The winners of the championships go directly to the World ICS Championships. Santa Fe resident Donna Foley, the 2023 World Champion for Texas Red Chili is entered in the  cookoff.

Tesuque Casino will host an all department Chili Championship on Friday, June 21 to get employees involved. Also, a Northern New Mexico News Media Championship will be held the same day.

Masonic Breakfast To Benefit Folds of Honor April 20

Pajarito Lodge #66 and Los Alamos Chapter #63 Order of Eastern Star will hold a waffle breakfast 7:30-10:30 a.m., April 20 at the Masonic Lodge, 1400 Sage Loop, to benefit New Mexico Folds of Honor.

Breakfast tickets are $10 each and include waffles and “all the fixings” … sausages, bacon and toppings.
