NM Congressional Delegation Welcomes Funding For Semiconductor Projects In New Mexico

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M) and Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), and U.S. Representatives Teresa Leger Fernández (D-N.M.), Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.) and Gabe Vasquez (D-N.M.) have welcomed an announcement of historic federal funding of up to $8.5 billion to expand American semiconductor manufacturing, including in New Mexico.

This new funding is made possible by an agreement between Intel and the U.S. Department of Commerce. It will support 700 manufacturing jobs and 1,000 construction jobs in the state.

We know there are a lot of Dallas Cowboys fans … well this dean has a lot of fans, too. Being a big fan of any Dallas team out there, born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Eric Zeigler is living the story.

He was raised in a suburb of Dallas with a population of some 300,000 people and four high schools. Zeigler grew up in a Southern Baptist family and loved sports because it was fun.

New Mexico Unemployment Rate: 4.0% In January 2024

New Mexico’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.0 percent in January, unchanged from the revised December rate and up from 3.6 percent in the previous year.

The national unemployment rate in January was 3.7 percent, unchanged from the revised rate in December and up from 3.4 percent in January 2023.
