The Los Alamos Historical Society invites you to a unique evening of history for “The General & the Genius: A Grandson’s Perspective,” a fundraising event dedicated to the restoration of the historic cottage where Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer lived during the Manhattan Project.

This 95-year-old cottage is a national treasure, and the goal is to raise $2 million to transform it into a gallery that will comprehensively narrate the life and legacy of Dr. Oppenheimer, both during and after the Manhattan Project.

At the Taos Regional Bridge tournament played the last week of September, 11 local players placed in various events, with Gina Doorn, Martin Cooper and Robert Sanders winning Gold Rush Pair events.

This tournament drew players from all across the country, including several professional bridge players.

Annual Fall Fiesta Returns To Bandelier Oct. 12-13

BANDELIER News:

Bandelier National Monument’s popular Fall Fiesta is returning, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Oct. 12-13, around the park’s visitor center in Frijoles Canyon.

More than 40 vendors are expected to participate in the two-day event. Handmade items such as pottery, jewelry, drums, carvings and more will be for sale. Dance groups will also perform throughout the weekend. There will be special ranger-led programs and guest speakers.
