Celebrate Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. with a candlelight worship service and communion in the historic WW II Army Chapel at The United Church of Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Road.
The United Church was founded in 1947, by people forming the new Los Alamos community and desiring “fellowship with all who devoutly love the Lord Jesus Christ, and adopting his standard of teaching and conduct as set forth in the New Testament”, as stated in the church covenant.
The church has formal ties with six Protestant denominations:

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Tourism Department’s (NMTD) four Visitor Information Centers will be closed Friday, Dec. 24, in observance of Christmas and Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, in observance of the New Year holiday.
The four state-operated visitor information centers include:

FREEDOM CHURCH News:
After a year off due to the pandemic, Freedom Church will again host an outdoor Christmas Eve Service Friday, Dec. 24 at Ashley Pond and the whole community is invited.
Pre-service games, activities, and hot cocoa will begin at 4:30 p.m. The service will start at 4:45 p.m. and be over by 5:30 p.m.

Beginning Monday, Jan 3, Los Alamos County Atomic City Transit will resume peak service for Routes 1 (Downtown) and Route 6 (North Mesa).
This will provide Route 6 with 30-minute service and Route 1 with 15-minute service.
Route 2 Peak Service will not be available until further notice and all other services will remain the same.
Atomic City Transit continues to maintain employee and passenger safety by complying with public health recommendations.

Expect Traffic Controls For Asphalt Patching On San Ildefonso Beginning At Camino Uva And Heading East

COUNTY News:
The eastbound lane on a portion of San Ildefonso Road will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. and ending by 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The closure of the 100-foot-long segment, beginning at Camino Uva and heading east, is for asphalt patching.
A flagging operation by crews from the Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division will direct all eastbound traffic, including bicyclists, to the westbound lane.
Motorists and bicyclists going in both directions are urged to slow down and obey all traffic safety devices and flagging personnel.
