Oh, look … it’s June 6—very notable in history as we remember the Allied invasion of Normandy on that day in 1944 WWII. There are few still with us who were part of combat in that terrible war, and fewer still who stormed those very beaches, or glided/parachuted into the French countryside under hostile fire. So in post Memorial Day weekend, let us remember those brave men and women once again—those who have already passed on, and especially those who never left that foreign shore. Their courage continues to inspire as we bask in the relative ease which they helped to ensure.

NCRTD Buses To Operate At 50 Percent Capacity

NCRTD News:

Upon guidance from New Mexico Department of Health and the Department of Transportation Transit and Rail Division, RTD Blue Buses will now operate at 50 percent capacity effective immediately.

Social distancing is still encouraged when possible and masks are required as per Federal Law. Federal law also requires passengers and drivers (with limited exceptions) to wear a properly fitting mask at all times.

Atomic City Transit Moves To 50 Percent Capacity Friday

COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit (ACT) will increase the number of passengers allowed on public transportation vehicles to one-half of the vehicle’s design capacity beginning Friday, June 4.

Passengers shall practice social distancing by maintaining three-foot separations between individuals rather than the six-foot distance previously required.

The use of masks will continue to be required for passengers to board and ride public transportation. Atomic City Transit operators will continue to be required to wear masks.

Atomic City Transit Issues Bus Stop Move/Closure Notices

ACT News:

Los Alamos County Atomic City Transit (ACT) today issued the following Bus Stop Closure Notice:

Stop #104 Trinity Drive and Timber Ridge Road will be closed during construction. This closure will affect Route 1, outbound from the Transit Center.

Also on Route 1, 2M and 3, outbound Stop Temporary Move Notice – Stop # 355, (East Road/East Park Pool) has been moved further west near Crossroads Church, across from the East Road and Canyon Road intersection. A temporary bus stop sign has been placed at this location.
