NCRTD Announces Memorial Day Holiday Closure

NCRTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses” will not be in service Monday, May 31, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

The exception will be the 255 RTD Mountain Trail to the Santa Fe National Forest, which will be in operation that day. 

NCRTD provides fare-free bus service on 27 of 29 routes to a service area that encompasses more than 10,000 square miles of north central New Mexico including the counties of Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos. Read More

The Los Alamos Faith and Science Forum invites the community to its eighth annual summer program entitled “Why Do Faith and Reason Interact?” – this year again via Zooming.

Our lecture series will begin at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday, starting June 2 and running for 9 weeks, through July 28.

Traffic Alert: N.M. 502 Roundabout Construction Update

Traffic Alert:

Eastbound and westbound lanes are open from DP Road to Tewa Loop on N.M. 502; however, the inside lanes are closed for landscaping to be installed in the medians.

Crews also are beginning roadway striping and signage, which may cause some temporary restrictions or slight delays.

Motorists are urged to slow down, watch for workers near the roadway, and use extra caution in this congested work area at the new roundabout this week. Read More

So, I’ve gotten it in my head to make bowls for a “Souper Bowl Sunday” next year, or an “Empty Bowls” project. Which means, lots of bowls. I figure if I can make 100 bowls between now and next spring, even if I can’t get any other potters on board, I could raise some good money for a worthy cause.

One hundred of anything is a daunting task for someone who is not a production potter by any metric.

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and local law enforcement agencies join Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Utah, and Wyoming reminding travelers to buckle up.
