ACT: Bus Stop #113 At Central & 4th To Be Removed

COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit is advising customers that Bus Stop #113 on the north side of Central Avenue and 4th Street will be removed. 

The proximity of this bus stop to the new roundabout is close and could cause traffic delays.

The next Bus Stop is #114 on Central Avenue and 6th Street and is available for use.

Environmental Sampling On DP Road Begins Today

N3B News:

DOE’s Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office and its contractor, N3B Los Alamos, are preparing for environmental sampling activities beginning today on the south side of DP Road.

In the coming weeks, the public should expect to see approximately 10-15 more vehicles per day, including semi-trucks and 10-wheeler/roll-off trucks. No road closures, delays or detours are expected.

Good News! The United Church Thrift Shop will be open 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Wednesday in April.

COVID-19 protocols are still being observed so shoppers must wear a mask, social distance and use hand sanitizer provided at the door. Up to 11 customers including children will be allowed in the store at a time.

The United Church Thrift Shop is at 2525 Canyon Road, across from the Nature Center. All proceeds from sales help an array of charities in Northern New Mexico.

You know … if snarling at other people was a virtue, these days our cup would runneth over with saints. In the press, on the street, in emails, and certainly in social media, is constant harangue: “The sky is blue!” “You moron; it’s turquoise!” “Fool! It’s azure!!” Or: “Nazi! How dare you disagree with me by making a wholly reasonable and logical argument!!” Sigh. Agreement seems as rare as a snowball in…August. And we wonder why we can’t achieve world peace. Duh.
