Ji-Heon Kim Of Los Alamos Wins State Piano Competition

Pianist Jin-Heon Kim of Los Alamos was recently awarded First Prize in Level Four (for ages 14 and 15) of the annual State Honors Piano Competition for the Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico (PMTNM).

Kim’s winning performance was of the third Concert Étude in D flat, S. 144 by Franz Liszt.

Los Alamos Christmas Tubas Perform At IHM Saturday

Nothing says Christmas like a brass band playing Christmas Carols, especially when the brass instruments are tubas and euphoniums.

The Los Alamos Christmas Tubas have been giving concerts for two decades. Last year’s concert was virtual but this year they’re back live.

The community is invited to enjoy the concert 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3700 Canyon Road.
