‘EnduroFest’ Serves Up Bike Races & Rock-n-Roll

Organizers of the newest cyclist-centric festival to hit Los Alamos – “Rock-n-Roll EnduroFest” – are hoping the event will gain speed among festival goers with many family-friendly activities for cyclists and non-cyclists alike, including guided rides, kids races, live music, microbreweries and bike races.

The event is scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 1-3.

Taos School of Music Hosts Young Artist Concerts

MUSIC News:

Taos School of Music will host a Young Artist Concert  at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at the Hotel St. Bernard, Taos Ski Valley. Young musicians will perform Beethoven String Quartet Op. 74 “Harp” and Schumann Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 63. The concert is free and open to the public.

A second concert is 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29 at Taos Community Auditorium, 145 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte, Taos. Musical selections include Haydn String Quartet Op. 76, No. 2 and Ravel String Quartet and Dvorak Piano Quartet in E Flat Major. Tickets for this concert are $8.

Everyone is welcome to come to the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, June 19 to listen to and mingle with four talented apprentice singers from The Santa Fe Opera.

In a concert at the Ashley Pond Pavilion Tuesday, June 17 the Craig Martin Experience (CME) will perform two hours of jazz with a modern focus.

“Over the last 50 years what we call jazz has borrowed rhythms from the pop charts and incorporated soul, funk, Latin and rock beats,” band leader Craig Martin said.
