So, can you dig jazz? Bebop? The kind of music made famous by saxophone monsters like Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Stan Getz, Lester Young and Ben Webster? Four Los Alamos High School seniors have been awarded scholarships from the Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra.

Judy Lee and Chip Mielke each received $300 and Kristen Haertling and Maria McTeigue each received $200.

The LASO awards are presented to seniors who have demonstrated outstanding musical achievement and who plan to continue musical pursuits, regardless of what he or she does in the future.
