New Mexico Announces Lane Travel For Tractor-trailers

NMSP News:

SANTA FE — The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) has teamed up with the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and the New Mexico Trucking Association (NMTA) to make drivers aware of required lane travel for tractor-trailers.

Beginning Saturday, July 1, 2023, as per New Mexico Senate Bill 102, Section 1. 66-7-376 NMSA 1978, a truck tractor shall not be driven in the left lane of a roadway except under provisions as outlined by the bill.

Failure to obey could result in a penalty assessment of $250 for the first and second offenses and $500 for the third offense.

FBI Doubles Reward To $10K In Case Of Woman From Laguna Pueblo Found Dead On Highway

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has doubled the reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Mona Renee Vallo.

A reward of up to $10,000 is now available.

March 9, 2022, passers-by discovered the body of Vallo on U.S. Route 66, New Mexico Highway 124, mile marker 20, in Laguna Pueblo, New Mexico.

Her injuries were consistent with a hit-and-run crash. She may have been struck at approximately 7 p.m. on the date her body was found.

CHAPELLE — The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau was called Tuesday, June 20, to investigate an apparent homicide at 437 County Road B27 in Chapelle, N.M.

NMSP Investigations Bureau agents learned that at around 10:30 p.m., June 20, a NMSP officer conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 25 near mile marker 330 was approached by a male subject. The male subject told the officer he believed that his son had just shot someone.

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced today that Brian Tony was sentenced to 17 years and 6 months in prison.

A federal jury convicted Tony, 51, of Gallup, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, of voluntary manslaughter March 10, 2022.
