Charges have been filed against two men arrested by the Los Alamos police shortly before 10 p.m. Friday after they fled from Smith’s Marketplace in a pick-up and allegedly attempted to run down LAPD Cpl. Robert Larsen. One shot was fired by police during the incident and the truck struck two cars and several mail boxes.

Three women were arrested on drug-related charges early Saturday morning following a traffic stop of a white Cadillac at Smith’s Gas Station on Trinity Drive by Los Alamos Police Sgt. Andrew Goldie.

Goldie was traveling eastbound on Trinity Drive when he observed the vehicle slowing down in front of him, abruptly change lanes and turn onto Knecht Street. Police Arrest Suspects Fleeing In Stolen Truck

Police responded to a report of shoplifters fleeing Smith’s Marketplace at about 10 p.m. Friday in a stolen truck. An officer encountered the truck in a cul-de-sac off East Road near Arroyo Lane. Police Chief Dino Sgambellone told the Los Alamos Daily Post this morning that the officer, whose name is not being released at this time, exited the vehicle and walked toward the truck. The driver drove aggressively toward the officer who fired a shot. The truck hit some mail boxes and crashed into a parked vehicle.
