LEPC Offering Free Disaster Preparedness Training

The Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), hosted by the Los Alamos County Office of Emergency Management, is inviting the community to register for a FREE disaster preparedness training.

The two-day course, titled When Disaster Strikes: Prepare, Act, Survive (PER 334), is provided by Texas A&M Engineering Extension Services (TEEX) and will take place Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3, at Fuller Lodge, 2132 Central Ave.

ALBUQUERQUE – A Farmington man was charged by indictment for a carjacking incident in 2022 in Fruitland, N.M.

Myles Cordelle Dan Padilla, 32, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, appeared before a federal judge and will remain in custody pending trial, which is set for Nov. 12, 2024.

According to the indictment, on April 10, 2022, Padilla took a motor vehicle from John Doe by force. NMSP Investigate OIS Involving Santa Fe Police Department

SANTA FE – On Sept. 22, 2024, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau was requested by the Santa Fe Police Department (SFPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting (OIS) involving the Santa Fe Police Department.

State Police agents learned that at around 6 a.m., SFPD officers were dispatched to 102 La Placita Circle for a disturbance.
