Annual Fort Union Days Event June 8-9, 2024

WATROUS: Fort Union National Monument announces its annual Fort Union Days Event to be held Saturday, June 8 and Sunday June 9, 2024.

The event days run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are free to the public. The event will feature an 1800s military encampment, living historians portraying soldier and civilian life and historic weapon demonstrations highlighting the period of the 1850s to 1890s.

New Open Space And Trails Management Plan To Be Developed For Los Alamos

Los Alamos County has hired Sites Southwest Consultants to develop an Open Space and Trails Management Plan for the County. To do that, they are supposed to review, update, and consolidate the relevant County documents, beginning with the 2013 Community Trail Plan.

Valles Caldera Backcountry Vehicle Route Opens Today

JEMEZ SPRINGS – Today is opening day for the 2024 season of the backcountry vehicle route in Valles Caldera National Preserve. Every day, 35 vehicle passes are available ahead of time.

Anyone interested in visiting the backcountry by vehicle can reserve a pass by visiting the Valles Caldera Backcountry Vehicle Pass webpage at Recreation.gov.

Hubbell Trading Post Returns To Bandelier May 18-19

Hubbell Trading Post is returning to Bandelier National Monument for the first time since 2019. The event is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.
