Anderson Is Top Predictor In Weekly Pace Race

Eric Anderson was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held on the trail at the end of Range Road beyond the cemetery.  He was 2 seconds off his predicted time.  Other accurate predictors were  Adrian Medin had a 4 second differential; Paul Geimer was 21 seconds off as well as the first-place finisher in the 3-mile course with a time of 21:51; Madeline Harms recorded a 32 second difference; and Anders Medin was 57 seconds off.

GOLDEN, CO — The Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC) is conducting a widespread survey of communities and stakeholders connected to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDT). The CDT Community Survey period is open through Nov. 15, and individuals, tribal representatives, organizations, and businesses in the CDT landscape are encouraged to participate.

Purgatory Announces 2025-26 Winter Operating Schedule

PURGATORY News:

Purgatory Resort, one of Colorado’s most family-friendly and affordable ski resorts, will kick off its 60th ski season Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025. Daily operations are scheduled through April 5, 2026, with weekend operations continuing as conditions allow.

Purgatory Resort opened Dec. 4, 1965, with one double chairlift and a handful of trails. Lift tickets were $4.50 for adults. Sixty years later, the resort features 1,635 acres of skiable terrain with 107 trails, 11 lifts, year-round activities, and signature events.

Residents Invited To Take ‘Bicycle Friendly Community’ Survey

The League of American Bicyclists is reviewing Los Alamos County’s application to renew its Bicycle Friendly Community status and inviting residents to share their feedback through an online survey open now through Sunday, Oct. 5.

The survey will help the League evaluate bicycling conditions in Los Alamos County as the community seeks to move from its current bronze designation to silver status.

The Family YMCA is thrilled to extend heartfelt thanks to the community for its overwhelming support of the Zumba Back-to-School Supply Drive, held last month in the Y gym.

The event drew over 60 enthusiastic participants, who not only joined in for an energetic Zumba session but also showed incredible generosity. September Update For Los Alamos Golf Course

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County staff evaluated the course Sept. 4 for any problem areas and assessed its overall status for additional play.

Staff has confirmed that the front nine is holding up well and will be making a slight adjustment to the schedule. 

Based on the golf course project management team’s evaluation of the golf course, the Los Alamos County Golf Course has announced a new schedule.

Beginning Sept. 24:

  • An additional day for play – The golf course will open at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, and all day Thursdays through Sundays.
