Sipapu Management Group Officially Begins Operating Pajarito Mountain Ski Area!

The Los Alamos Ski Club announced today that the management group that operates Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort officially started operating Pajarito Mountain Ski Area.

Wilderness Act And Bandelier Wilderness Anniversary; Crews Thanked For Help With Trails

For the past nearly three months, a crew from the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC) has been working on the trails at Bandelier National Monument, helping repair effects of the Las Conchas Fire and resulting flooding.

Los Alamos Ski Racing Club Holds Ski Swap Oct. 18

Fall is approaching and the time to get ready for the upcoming ski season is upon us. The annual Los Alamos Ski Swap, hosted by the Los Alamos Ski Racing Club is Saturday, Oct. 18.

The ski swap is a decades-long tradition of Los Alamos. It’s unclear exactly what year the first swap was held, but many an “experienced” skier will tell you it’s been going on for at least 30 years. 

The swap is free to the public, and is the primary fundraiser for LASRC, a 501c3 non-profit corporation that operates locally on Pajarito Mountain. Read More

Ever dreamed about learning how to dance? Never had time? Now it’s your chance to learn how to TANGO!

As a part of fundraising efforts for the Los Alamos High School Dance Program, Ballroom Dance students and their teacher Natasha Barkhudarova are offering four weekly sessions of TANGO dance classes for Beginners, starting Tuesday.

Classes are 7-8 p.m., each Tuesday – Oct. 14, 21, 28 and Nov. 4 – at the Topper Theater at LAHS. No partner is required. Everybody is welcome to join the class.

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce is holding the annual Chamber Golf Tournament Benefitting United Way of Northern New Mexico Friday, Oct.10 at the Los Alamos County Golf Course.
