Ranger ‘Read & Learn’ Focuses On Winter Solstice Dec. 21

NMHS News:

In a partnership with the Martha Liebert Public Library in Bernalillo, Coronado Historic Site offers a “Ranger Read and Learn” story time that is free and open to all ages, 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 at Martha Liebert Public Library at 124 Calle Malinche in Bernalillo.

At Ranger Read and Learn, a ranger from Coronado Historic Site will read a story and offer related conversation and activities. Children can listen to the book The Shortest Day by Susan Cooper, to learn more about the winter solstice.

The ranger will then lead a solstice-inspired craft activity.

County: New Mexico State Road 4 Crossing And Multi-Use Trail Project Public Input Meeting Set For Thursday Dec. 5

COUNTY News:

The community is invited to attend and share thoughts on the New Mexico State Road 4 Crossing and Multi-Use Trail Project at this week’s public input meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 in Fire Station #3 on N.M. 4 in White Rock, as part of the Los Alamos County Transportation Board meeting.

Los Alamos Golf Course Begins Seasonal Closure Dec. 9

COUNTY News:

As the colder months approach, the Los Alamos Golf Course will close for the season starting Dec. 9.

However, the golf shop will remain open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing visitors to purchase merchandise or handle golf-related needs.

The golf shop will be closed weekends.

This schedule will remain in effect through March 7, 2025, pending weather conditions and course maintenance requirements. Any updates regarding reopening or further adjustments will be communicated closer to the spring season.
