Adrian Medin, 12, had a perfect prediction for his estimated time as well as the first finisher in the 1 mile race with a time of 7:15 at the Atomic City Road Runners (ACRR) Pace Race held Tuesday evening on American Springs Road in the Jemez.

Kiwanis Expresses Gratitude For Golf Tournament Success

The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos’ second Annual Golf Tournament, held Friday July 14, was another fun and successful event.
The game was a scramble and the golfers had the opportunity to purchase mulligans and bomb balls. There were goodie bags, a luncheon, and door prizes. A particular highlight was the hole-in-one … congratulations to Pat Soran!

Tennis season is here, and the Los Alamos Tennis Club is excited to announce registration is open for the 6th annual Joel M. Williams Tennis Tournament!
The tournament will be held Aug. 3-6 at the Urban Park courts and will offer men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches for tennis players of all levels. Months old Iris Geimer and father Paul Geimer were top predictors in the weekly pace race held out on North Mesa at the North Mesa Picnic Grounds with a 9 second differential from their predicted time.

Los Alamos Public Library presents an author talk about famous footballer Don Perkins. Dr. Richard Melzerwill present the talk, “Don Perkins: A Champion’s Life”, 7-8 p.m. Thursday, July 27 at Mesa Public Library.
