The annual Louie Cernicek Invitational boys soccer tournament opens bright and early Friday morning.

The Louie Cernicek Invitational is one of the marquee events for Los Alamos’ boys soccer program. The Hilltoppers will be at home Friday morning to host the Artesia Bulldogs in the first round.

The Hilltoppers Varsity volleyball team kicked off its season Tuesday night at Griffith Gymnasium, hosting the St. Mike’s Lady Horsemen in an electrifying home opener.

The Toppers came out swinging, claiming a dominant win in the first set. However, the Lady Horsemen quickly found their rhythm, storming back to take set two.

The battle intensified in sets three and four, with both teams trading powerful rallies, but in the end, the Toppers fell to the Lady Horsemen’s relentless offensive push.

LA Football Opens At Home Vs. Taos’ Tigers Thursday Night

Los Alamos High School’s football team will kick off its home season Thursday night, taking on an old foe at Sullivan Field.

The Hilltoppers will meet the Taos Tigers Thursday. Kickoff at Sullivan Field is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Hilltoppers opened their 2025 campaign with a monster victory on the road Saturday. The Hilltoppers crushed the homestanding Espanola Valley Sundevils 54-6, avenging a season-opening loss from one year ago.

Scenes From 2025 ‘Guns Vs. Hoses’ For Special Olympics

Scene from the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) and Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) charitable softball game dubbed ‘Guns vs. Hoses’ played Friday at Overlook Park in White Rock. Following a fun and exciting match, the hoses doused the guns 38-7. The teams played to raise money for the Special Olympics. It has been a long-standing tradition for LAPD and LAFD to come together to support local Special Olympics athletes.
