Register For Skills Basketball Camp

If you are passionate about becoming a better basketball player, then you should attend Skills Camp!
 
The camps’ mission is to develop fundamental basketball skills. Campers will learn ball handling, triple threat, post moves, rebounding, court spacing, passing, defensive keys, and team offense/defense.
 
Camps will run about 1.5 hours. Participants should arrive 10 minutes before start time. Bring gym shoes, clothing appropriate for basketball, a basketball and a water bottle.

The Los Alamos Derby Dames took to the track Saturday for the first time this season in a regional mash up scrimmage including skaters from Albuquerque and Farmington. 
 
In true New Mexico fashion, Red took on Green to battle it out in a hard hitting, fast paced game at the Los Alamos County Ice Rink. It was the first game for many Los Alamos skaters, proving that roller derby is alive and well

Community Soccer Field Temporary Closure June 8

COUNTY News:

The Community Soccer Field at 1670 Nector St., will be closed for Irrigation and Turf renovations beginning June 8.

This project is expected to take two months and is scheduled for completion Aug. 7. 

The Tot Lot will be fenced off and accessible to the public from Peach Street.

The Radioactive Fireflies (state runners up) and the Atomic Flying Pickles (3rd place in NM), both Girl Scout FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics teams from Los Alamos, competed the weekend of May 15 at the Legoland North American FLL Championship.

LAHS Cross Country Meeting For Freshman Tuesday

The Los Alamos High School cross country coaches are having a meeting for parents and athletes of incoming freshman and other newcomers to the high school program at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, in the LAHS Speech Theater (entrance by outdoor basketball court, park in Griffith lot and walk toward the round library). 

The coaches will share information about high school cross country in general, summer practices, physicals, training calendars, etc. Attendance isn’t necessary for anyone with an 8th-grader who has an older sibling already running LAHS cross country. Read More

The weekly Pace Race was very competitive Tuesday night on the Canada del Buey trail in White Rock.
 
Jayson Jones was the best predictor on the one mile course with an adjusted error of 3.15 seconds. Second was Tamryn Jones with a prediction adjusted error of 4.26 seconds followed by Jackie Peckham with an adjusted error of 5.7 seconds.
