Hilltopper Football Conditioning Workout Underway

HILLTOPPER News:

All Los Alamos students interested in playing football are encouraged to attend the Strength and Conditioning Workout this summer Workouts 8-10 a.m. Monday through Thursday, June 9-July 25, with makeup sessions/open gym 8-10 a.m. Fridays.   

Those participating will be in the weight room 8-9 a.m. and on the field 9-10 a.m. for conditioning and fundamentals. Bring cleats to every workout.

Summer fun is on the schedule, especially for those who live in White Rock.

Chamisa physical education teacher and former PE teacher of the year, Justin Black is ready to inspire activity. While the classes are open to all youth, Black has gone out of his way to offer some summer time fun in White Rock, while doing it as a fundraiser for his elementary school program.

Katie Gattiker was the top predictor at seven seconds off her predicted time in this week’s Atomic City Runners pace race at East Park.
 
She was followed by Ryan Smeltzer with a nine second differential. Ted Romero was 19 seconds off and was also the top three mile finisher at 21:19. Jackie Peckham had a 27 second difference.

Participate in First Ever Los Alamos Pétanque Tournament Saturday

LMPC News:

The first La Mesa Pétanque Club (LMPC) triples tournament, hosted by the La Mesa Pétanque Club, is 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new Urban Park petanque courts in Los Alamos. This is an open event to the first eight teams (24 players).

The new courts are on the north end of the park off Urban Street. Registration is $5 per player and begins at 8:30 a.m. Extra boules will be available if needed.

Several random qualifying rounds will be played in the morning, with concours and consolante brackets in the afternoon. Read More
