McClellan Has Perfect Prediction in Weekly Pace Race

Laura McClellan had perfect prediction of 26:15 on the 3 mile course of the Atomic City Road Runner’s weekly pace race Tuesday on American Springs Road up in the Jemez. Other top predictors were Tom Sandford at 6 seconds off, Roxana Candia and Linda Vance tying with a 13 second differential and Tamara Jurado at 14 seconds.
 
Reid Rivenburgh was the top finisher on the 1 mile course with a time of 10:31 and Sue Elkins was the first female at 15:37.
 
On the 3 mile course Nikol Strother was first overall recording a 22:17

The LAHS girls golf team won the district 2-4A championship Monday but it was more than a win, they beat the district qualifying target score by 35 shots!

The North Mesa Vibram Birdie Bash is set for May 17 at the North Mesa Picnic Grounds in Los Alamos. Come one, come all … We are bringing Disc Golf fun to Los Alamos.

Join us in the first ever North Mesa Vibram Birdie Bash. This is a fun-based tournament intended for all ages. You get the discs you need to play just by registering and the $30 entry includes a sweet player pack.

There will be male and female divisions. Everyone has a chance to win.

Hilltopper Baseball & Softball Games Set for Weekend

SPORTS News:

The Hilltopper games are set for this weekend for baseball and softball. Softball got the 12th seed and will play 5th seed Valencia. Topper girls 5th seed will travel to Valencia to play at 6 p.m. Friday.

Baseball received the 7th seed and will play 10th seed Centennial.

Friday’s game will begin at 5 p.m. and then at 11 a.m. Saturday and if a third game is needed, that game will be at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The 8th Annual Caldera Runs took place Saturday. More than 300 runners tackled the challenging, hilly terrain in a Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K.

The Hilltopper’s LA Slam boys 14U basketball team won the first annual Jaguar Jam LA Slam 47 NM Heat 39 score championship game last weekend in Santa Fe. Los Alamos High School graduate Cory Miller wins the finals match and finishes fifth overall at the 2014 Junior Olympics April 22-23 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Miller is one of 105 shooters from all over the nation who qualified to compete this year in the Air Rifle category at the Junior Olympics.
