The Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers competed March 1-2 at the Monopoly Meet in Belen, NM hosted by Boardwalk Gymnastics.

Tumblers top gymnasts at the competition were Addy Archuleta and Maddie Vallejo. Addy earned 1st place overall in the silver senior division with an all around score of 35.85. Individual event scores that led to her first place all around were two first place finishes on vault (9.5) and floor (9.0), second place on bar (9.1), and third on beam (8.6). The snowpack in Northern New Mexico is 34 percent of normal. The weather last week was warm and dry. Locally  the snowpack at the Hopewell measuring station was 55-percent of normal with a snow depth of 24 inches a week ago.

Two weeks ago there were two different  weather  patterns in New Mexico. Temperatures were bitterly cold in Eastern New Mexico, but much milder in the Central and Western parts of the state. This week temperatures are forecast to be above normal with possibly some snow in the higher elevations.

YMCA’s Wildcat Basketball Team Ends Season As Number One!

The YMCA’s Wildcat Basketball season ended in a lot of excitement with multiple buzzer beater shots, close games and overtime wins! In the inaugural season of Wildcat Basketball, the Pinon Panthers won the title as the first ever Wildcat Basketball champions! Topper Wrestlers Compete In 2025 State Tournament

The Topper Wrestling teams competed in the State Wrestling Competition held this past weekend in the Rio Rancho Event Center. The Los Alamos Girls Wrestling Team qualified five athletes for the State Tournament, Sophia Pacheco, Gala Nelson and Molly Castille all won one match at the tournament. Jade Blackhart finished her season as the runner up in the 152-pound weight class. Her opponent in the finales was a nationally ranked wrestler from Cleveland High School.
