LAAS News:

The Los Alamos All Stars (11 and 12-year-olds) won the District One Championship Wednesday.

The team, consisting of players from Los Alamos and White Rock Little Leagues, went undefeated throughout the tournament.

Here are the results  from Wednesday’s Splash n Dash. There will be two more Splash n Dashes this summer. The next is July 24 and the last is Aug. 7. There will be prizes at the Aug. 7 Splash n Dash for anyone who participates in three or more.

Volley Ball Camp Next Week

SPORTS News:

A Volleyball Technique Camp will be held for youth going into 5th through 8th grade.

The Camp will be 5-7 p.m., July 15–18 at Griffith Gym. Los Alamos High School and Los Alamos Middle School volleyball coaches will lead the camp.

This camp focuses on teaching general skills encountered in middle school volleyball. There will be a breakout sessions on individual skills and position specific skills as well. Player registrations will be taken at the door or you may register in advance.

Sue Elkins has Perfect Prediction in Tuesday’s Pace Race

ACRR News:

Sue Elkins had a perfect prediction in Tuesday’s pace race. Eddie Gartz was only 1 off his prediction.
 
Tuesday’s pace race was held on roads in Pajarito Acres and started on Acoma Lane. Ages ranged from 4 to 82.
 
The best predictors (and the time that they were off their prediction) for the one mile course were Sue Elkins (0 s), Eddie Gartz (1 s), Zachary Mauro (4 s), and Will Gartz (12 s).
For the 2.8 mile course, the best predictors were Zachary Medin (14 s), Roxana Candia (15 s), and Ted Romero (28 s).

Junior Wrestling Clinic at YMCA July 15-19

YMCA News:

Registration is still open, but space is limited for the  Junior Wrestling Clinic at the Family YMCA.  

The Clinic will run 9-11 a.m., July 15-19 in the gym at the Y.

This is a skills and practice clinic for ages 5-12 of all experience levels, taught by Ken Nadeau. Cost is $40.

The Los Alamos Aquatomics (LAA) hosted the annual Nick Nogar Memorial Invitational, a long course swimming meet, at the Walkup Aquatic Center June 29-30.

This annual meet is dedicated to Nick Nogar, a former Los Alamos High School, University of New Mexico, and US Masters swimmer, who was a devoted and beloved supporter of swimming.
