Catherine Hensley was the top predictor this the Atomic City Road Runner weekly pace race held on the trail behind the County Aquatic Center. She was 9 seconds off her predicted time as well as the first female finisher on the 1 mile paved course recording a 17:23.

MOUNTAIN SWIM CLUB News:

The 2024 New Mexico Swimming Long Course State Championships July 11-14 at New Mexico State University Outdoor Aquatic Center in Las Cruces.

For this season, Mountain club had 24 qualified swimmers for the championships. It entered 21 of them with 110 individual events and 21 team relays.

The club’s swimmers finished 4th place as a team with 456 points.

After a cool and wet start to August, the weather has changed to hot and dry. Now is a good time to do a little preseason scouting and learning of the Big Game hunting unit you plan on hunting this fall if you were lucky enough to draw a license.

LAPS Fall Sports Season Passes & Tickets Available

Get ready to cheer for the Hawks and Hilltoppers! The Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) Athletic Department has announced that all season passes and all tickets for fall athletic events are now available for sale.

Tickets and season passes can be purchased in advance either through the HomeTown Fan app or online through Hometown Ticketing. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate with a credit card. Tickets purchased in advance are not subject to an additional credit card fee; however, there is an additional fee for tickets purchased at the gate.

There’s still time to register for the Hilltopper Run! This year the race is Sunday, Aug. 18 at Canyon Rim Trail beginning at the west end of the Canyon Rim Trail in the Smith’s Marketplace parking lot.

There will be:

  • 5 mile run (6:30 a.m. start);
  • 5K Run (8:15 a.m. start); and
  • Kids’ 1 mile run (9:30 a.m. start).
