Warren Scoggins was the best predictor in the Atomic City Road Runners weekly pace race held Tuesday on Kwage Mesa Trail on North Mesa. He was 23 seconds off his predicted time.

Other accurate predictors were:

  • Zeke Wilmot with a 32 second differential;
  • Chris Michel recording a 60 second difference; and
  • Paul Geimer at 70 seconds off as well as the top finisher in the 3 mile distance at 19:25.

Los Alamos Golf Course Announces Upcoming Closure

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Golf Course announces upcoming changes to its golf course schedule.

The course will be closed Sept. 2 to Sept. 20 in relation to the improvement project work  underway.

The Golf Course plans to have a limited re-opening on Sept. 21, so that golfers can get back to enjoying the game.

During the closure, the golf shop will remain open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily to assist patrons with any needs or questions.

After a cool and wet start to August, the weather has changed to hot and dry. Now is a good time to do a little preseason scouting and learning of the Big Game hunting unit you plan on hunting this fall if you were lucky enough to draw a license.

This coming week should see a return of monsoon rains.

Anglers have been reporting murky to muddy water conditions at Pilar on the Rio Grande. Flows on the Rio are not too high, so the rain may be to blame.
