LAHS Girls Basketball Vs. Moriarty Moved To Feb. 20

LAHS SPORTS News:

The Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Girls Basketball games against Moriarty High School have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 20 in Griffith Gymnasium.

The JV game will start at 4 p.m., followed by the Varsity game at 5:30 p.m. 

These games were postponed last Saturday due to inclement weather.

Three days of competition kicked off at Crested Butte Feb. 10, 2024. Volume 1 and volume 2 of the Crested Butte IFSA Jr Regional competition featured nearly 180 athletes in the 12-14 (U15) and 15-18 (U18) age categories.

County Seeks Community Input For White Rock Skate Park Improvement Project To Replace Modular Elements

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) has begun the project to replace the modular elements for the White Rock Skate Park (99 Sherwood Blvd., in White Rock). American Ramp Company (ARC), in partnership with CSD, is seeking the community’s input on the design and type of modular elements to install.  

The County Council approved the White Rock Skate Park improvement project as part of the Capital Improvement Project budget for 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and staffing and supply shortages, the project was delayed. ARC was selected by CSD in February 2023 Read More

Los Alamos High School Athletic Director Ann Stewart Announces Her Retirement At End Of School Year

Los Alamos High School Athletic Director Ann Stewart has announced her retirement at the end of the school year. She has served as the AD for 10 years.

Stewart had been a teacher for more than 13 years and a coach for more than 16 years prior to being named the Athletic Director. Before becoming an educator, she served as a police officer.

“Over the years I have enjoyed watching the successes of the kids,” she said. “I love watching their excitement when they do well. It’s exciting to watch them overcome obstacles and work hard and see the fruits of their labors.
