COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit Route 2M (Main Hill) is suspended through the remainder of today due to a staffing shortage.

Riders should plan to use Route 2T (Truck Route), which will continue to operate its regular schedule 5:55 a.m. to 6:58 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Atomic City Transit apologizes for the inconvenience the Route 2M suspension may cause.

Atomic City Transit (ACT) will not operate Route 2M (Main Hill) beginning at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8 through the remainder of the day due to a staffing shortage.

Riders should plan to use Route 2T (Truck Route), which will continue to operate its regular schedule until 6:58 p.m.

Route 2M service will resume Monday, Oct. 11.

LAPD Reminds Motorists And Pedestrians To Travel Safely Following Second Fatal Crash Of 2021

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) investigated a fatal crash in White Rock on Sept. 20, involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian. 

The pedestrian victim was a 56-year-old female resident of White Rock.

The Department’s patrol division and crash reconstruction team responded to the scene. The investigation was forwarded to the 1st Judicial District Attorney’s Office for review.

NMDOT Supports Walk And Ride To School Day 2021 Oct. 6

SANTA FE — Thousands of students, parents, teachers and community leaders across New Mexico will walk, bike, scoot or skate to school Oct. 6, in celebration of the 25th Annual National Walk to School Day. 

This year, 34 elementary and middle schools in New Mexico have registered Walk to School Day events on walkbiketoschool.org.

The total number of schools and events is expected to grow as celebrations continue throughout October, National Walk to School Month. Participation will fit within local public health guidance.

County Utility Work: Lane Drop On Overlook Road

COUNTY News:

A lane drop and flagging operation on Overlook Road at the intersection of the White Rock wastewater treatment plant road is planned to begin this week and continue through the end of October.

Under contract to the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities, Parker Construction will excavate and tap a gas main first in the westbound lane and then move to the eastbound lane.

This work is in support of a project to replace the wastewater treatment plant with a new water resource recovery facility.

Traffic impacts will be minimal.
